Sunday August 8 - Japanese Book Binding with Bindfulness, 10am - 4.30pm
Make time for Making with Bindfulness in this afternoon workshop.
Inspired by Master Craftsman Kojiro Ikegami, we will use the gorgeous and elegant four-hole stab binding method to make two handbound books.
The full day of making includes all materials. You will use hand printed, one of a kind suminagashi marbled paper, board, various decorative papers, bookcloth, linen or hemp thread and adhesive to make your own uniquely designed books. Tools are provided for use on the day.
A Wasted Kitchen lunch, coffee, tea and biscuits are included.
You’ll take away your unique handbound books, new skills, and the satisfaction and well-being that the investment of time into working creatively brings.
In the workshop you will learn about:
The selection of materials
Various Four hole binding styles
Some common bookbinding tools and how to use them safely
Classes are taught through Practical Demonstrations and supported hands on work. Image is to demonstrate the style of book only. Papers and materials will vary.
